How to make Puto Bumbong?

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine both types of glutinous rice, add enough water to fully soak them and leave in a cool place for 24 hours.
  2. Fully drain your rice then place them in a food processor or a blender, pulse to have a grainy wet consistency and add a bit of water while grinding them. You need to achieve a gritty but fine consistency similar to a moist sand.
  3. Place the mixture in a lightly greased shallow tray, place in a steamer then steam for 20 minutes in really high heat or until cooked and tender.
  4. Remove the cooked puto bumbong from the tray, slice and shape into small cylinders, place on a banana leaf lined plate then spread some margarine on top, generously sprinkle it with freshly grated coconut and some palm sugar granules then serve.

ow to make Ginataang Langka w/ Daing?

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped langka (young jack fruit) 
  • 1 1/2 cup coconut milk 
  • 1 tsp sauteed bagoong 
  • 1 medium size daing (dried fish) rinsed well
  • 1/2 cup malunggay leaves
  • 1 thumb size ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small chili (jalapeno) pepper, sliced thin
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat wok and add cooking oil. 
  2. Fry daing for a minute on each side. Remove from wok and set aside. 
  3. Add onion and garlic, stir and cook until aromatic. 
  4. Add chili pepper, ginger and stir. Cook for a minute. 
  5. Add bagoong and stir. Cook for a minute. 
  6. Add langka to the wok and stir. Cook in medium heat for 2 minutes while stirring frequently.
  7. Add water to the wok and continue cooking until langka is fully cooked and soft. 
  8. Add coconut milk and stir. Simmer in low heat for 5 minutes. 
  9. Add fried daing back to the wok and continue to simmer for 3 minutes. 
  10. Add malunggay leaves and stir. Continue to cook for few minutes or until malunggay is fully cooked. 
  11. Season with salt and ground pepper. Stir and remove from heat. 
  12. Serve hot over steamed rice and enjoy! 

How to cook leche flan?

Ingredients

  • 10 pieces eggs
  • 1 can condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 1 cup fresh milk or evaporated milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Using all the eggs, separate the yolk from the egg white (only egg yolks will be used).
  • Place the egg yolks in a big bowl then beat them using a fork or an egg beater
  • Add the condensed milk and mix thoroughly
  • Pour-in the fresh milk and Vanilla. Mix well
  • Put the mold (llanera) on top of the stove and heat using low fire
  • Put-in the granulated sugar on the mold and mix thoroughly until the solid sugar turns into liquid (caramel) having a light brown color. Note: Sometimes it is hard to find a Llanera (Traditional flan mold) depending on your location. I find it more convenient to use individual Round Pans in making leche flan.
  • Spread the caramel (liquid sugar) evenly on the flat side of the mold
  • Wait for 5 minutes then pour the egg yolk and milk mixture on the mold
  • Cover the top of the mold using an Aluminum foil
  • Steam the mold with egg and milk mixture for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • After steaming, let the temperature cool down then refrigerate
  • Serve for dessert. Share and Enjoy!

How to make Chicken curry?

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, thigh and leg
  • 1/4 cup curry powder
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1/3 cup garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup ginger, sliced
  • 2/3 cup onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup patis
  • 3 cup thin coconut milk
  • 2 Tbsp milk, evaporated
  • 3 cup potato, cut into chunks
  • 2/3 cup bell pepper, red, cut into strips
  • 1 can DEL MONTE Pineapple Chunks, drained, reserve syrup
  • patis, to taste

Preparation

1. Marinate chicken in curry powder for 15 minutes in the chiller.
2. Sauté garlic, ginger, and onion in oil. Add chicken and patis. Cook for 5 minutes. Add the reserved pineapple syrup and coconut milk. Boil then allow to simmer for 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked.
3. Add evaporated milk and potatoes. Allow to boil then simmer for about 10 minutes. Add bell pepper, DEL MONTE Pineapple Chunks and patis to taste. Simmer for 5 minutes.

 
 

How to make Chicken fillet

INGREDIENTS

Chicken

  • 1 1/2 lb (675 g) skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1/4-inch (1/2-cm) thick strips
  • 1 cup (250 ml) buttermilk (see note)

Breading

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups (625 ml) panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) olive or canola oil
  • Salt and peppe

PREPARATION

Chicken

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken with the buttermilk. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.

Breading

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, chili powder, and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the eggs in a second bowl and the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  3. Drain the chicken strips and dredge in the flour mixture. Dip in the eggs and shake to remove any excess. Press in the panko to coat thoroughly.

Freezing

  1. Freeze the chicken strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for about 4 hours or until the strips are frozen. Place the strips in sealable freezer plastic bags.

Cooking

  1. In a non-stick skillet, brown the frozen chicken strips in the oil for about 3 minutes on each side over medium heat. Finish cooking in the middle of a 180 °C (350 °F) preheated oven for about 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. Serve with a dipping sauce (see recipe).

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour2 tablespoons cornstarch1 pinch salt1 cup water

1 egg yolk2 egg whites, lightly beaten1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails left on2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Whisk flour, cornstarch, and salt in a large bowl. Make a depression in the center of the flour. Stir in the water and egg yolk. Mix just until moistened; batter will be lumpy. Stir in egg whites.
  3. One at a time, dip shrimp into the batter to coat. Do not batter tails. Carefully place a few shrimp at a time into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

HOW TO MAKE ROYAL BIBINGKA?

This is a recipe for special royal bibingka.

Ingredients

  •  cup glutinous rice flour
  • 6 tablespoons sweet rice flour Mochico
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • ½ cup margarine softened
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 egg

 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Combine the glutinous rice flour, sweet rice flour, and sugar in a bowl. Whisk until well blended. Set aside.
  • In a clean bowl, beat the eggs, pour the evaporated milk and coconut milk and then continue to beat until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Gradually add the rice flour mixture to the bowl with wet ingredients and continue to whisk until the texture becomes soft.
  • Brush margarine into the aluminum molds and then pour the mixture equally between all molds. Temporarily cover the molds with foil.
  • Bake for 18 minutes.
  • Remove the cover. Brush with more margarine and sprinkle cheese on top. Put back in the oven and continue to bake in 350F for 22 minutes. Set the oven to broil and broil for 8 minutes.

HOW TO COOK SUMAN MURON ?

AGAIN AND AGAIN GUYS WELCOME TO MY FOOD BLOG.THIS IS MY 3RD BLOG AND ITS SUMAN MURON RECIPE(a chocolate moron).

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup malagkit (glutinous) rice
  • 1-1/2 cup ordinary rice
  • 3/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate or cocoa (any brand)
  • banana leaves, wilted over fire
  • melted butter
  • string

Cooking Procedures :

  1. Soak over night the malagkit and ordinary rice. Grind the following day.
  2. Soak both ground rice in coconut milk until soft. Add sugar and the chocolate.
  3. Cook over low fire, constantly stirring until thick. Set aside and cool.
  4. Prepare the leaves for wrapping by heating by over low fire. Brush the leaves with butter.
  5. Put 2 tbsp. of the mixture in every wrap. Tie with string. Repeat until all are wrapped.
  6. Cook/steam for half an hour in a double boiler container or a steamer.

How to make Puto Cheese?

HI GUYS WELCOME TO MY 2ND BLOG! JUST STAMBY AND VISIT ON HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 5 cups water for steaming

Instructions

  • Pour the water into a steamer or cooking pot. Let boil.
  • Sift flour, sugar, and baking powder. Combine in a bowl. Mix well.
  • Gradually add the milk while stirring. Continue to stir until the texture of the mixture becomes smooth.
  • Stir-in the vanilla extract and half of the cheese.
  • Pour the mixture into small to medium sized molds. Arrange in a steamer. Cover and steam for 25 minutes. Top each puto with the remaining cheese. Steam for 5 minutes more.
  • Take the steamed cheese puto out of the steamer. Let it cool down.
  • Gently remove the puto from the mold with the help of a spatula.
  • Arrange in serving plate. Serve.
